When Eunnam Hong talks about her work with me her reference points are novels and, especially, movies, not paintings. And this makes perfect sense because, even if hers are not exactly narrative paintings, they are constructed like scenes in a story. Yet when I look at her work, I still find myself thinking intensely about painting.
