The 2026 New York Comedy Festival is proud to highlight **Comedians Interview Experts**. This show is exactly what it says. Every week one of your favorite comedians interviews an expert on a topic they've always wanted to know more about. Every Sunday come hear the funniest interviews about neuroscience, astrophysics, mental health, and more! This week **Baron Vaughn** interviews **Dr. April Toure** about anxiety—how it works and how to manage it. **Baron Vaughn** is an actor, writer, director, and comedian. He’s best known as “Bud” on the Netflix Original Series, Grace & Frankie, sharing the screen with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Baron also voiced “Tom Servo” in the recent seasons of cult-hit, Mystery Science Theater 3000. He co-created and co-hosted the groundbreaking Comedy Central showcase variety series The New Negroes with Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle which shined a light on both established and rising Black artists in comedy and music. Baron’s deeply personal project, Fatherless, directed by the award-winning Dawn Porter, explored the impact of absent fathers on families and communities while he also endeavored to finally connect with his own absent father. As a comedian, Baron has been entertaining audiences for more than 20 years. He’s been seen on Comedy Central’s The Half Hour and The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, as well as on HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, and TBS’ Conan. Baron has performed at many renowned festivals including HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen), Just for Laughs (Montreal & Vancouver), Life Is Beautiful (Las Vegas), SXSW (Austin), and the New York Comedy Festival. Baron, along with Open Mike Eagle, has also toured the live version of the showcase The New Negroes across the country. He has two comedy recordings, Raised by Cable and Blaxistential Crisis, both available on all streaming platforms. Baron just concluded the world premiere run of his solo show “Cycle Breaker” commissioned by the Geva Theatre in Rochester, NY. **Baron is featured in the documentary ANXIETY CLUB, available for rent on Apple, Amazon, Punchup, Google, and Youtube.** **Dr. April Toure** is a double board-certified psychiatrist working in Brooklyn, NY. She enjoys working with patients of diverse backgrounds to address their mental health needs, spanning work in both emergency department and clinic settings. She also enjoys teaching about mental health and psychiatric care through both the supervision of psychiatrists in training and public-facing media work. Dr. Toure also works closely with The Jed Foundation, serving as a trusted clinical resource and contributing her expertise to educational content, public programs, and discussions.
