Sarah Sagarin creates large-scale oil paintings that begin with gestural mark-making, gradually revealing figures, narratives, and imagined spaces. Her paintings explore the liminal territory between personal experience and the collective unconscious, creating imagery that is unsettling, strangely familiar, and often edged with humor. Based in New York City and Hudson, NY, she has exhibited nationally and internationally, with work in public and private collections, including the University of Montana and the Copelouzos Art Museum in Athens, Greece.
