TATIANNA OVERTON - Voice Miki Yamanaka - Piano Tyrone Allen II - Bass Kayvon Gordon - Drums Tatianna Overton is a New York-born and based vocalist whose work moves fluidly between sacred, jazz, classical, and contemporary performance traditions. Her musical foundation combines over fifteen years of classical training (including studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music), years of experience as a cantor and choral section leader, and an ever-evolving approach to jazz and experimental music. She has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, The Apollo, David Geffen Hall, and Kings Theatre. Whether interpreting traditional repertoire, creating new work, or performing collaboratively, Tatianna’s drawn to the ways sound can create space for reflection, healing, and shared imagination. Having learned to interpret sacred hymns with reverence while still connecting to the message of the present, Tatianna brings that same approach to traditional songbook standards and newer repertoire alike. Her live looping project, .tatio, reflects a deeper commitment to pushing form, informing her command of rhythmically complex, spiritually rooted material. This exploration of voice, improvisation, and composition has evolved into a practice rooted in the jazz tradition — an artistic home for the many musical languages that have shaped her. Through this, Tatianna invites audiences into deeper relationships with themselves, one another, and the world around them.
