Major Fix is a PowerPoint lecture series where New York City's brightest creative minds share a presentation on a personal obsession, followed by an audience Q&A. Previous lectures include: Why Pro Wrestling Should Be an Olympic Sport, The Subtle Art of Online Stalking, and New York City Etiquette Tips From a Native New Yorker for Non-New Yorkers. Major Fix XII takes place **Thursday, Dec. 3**, and features: - **Liam Goslett:** A History of Unorthodox French Innovation - **Fanny R-K:** The Ecological Imperative to Hang Out - **Tanner Notch:** Giants Are Buried in the Hills **Hosted by:** Jordan Sowunmi --- **Presenter and Host Bios** **Liam Goslett** is interested in everything. A Canadian creative director living in New York, he has been described as a generalist, mostly by specialists, and has made a career out of taking interests too far. As a child, he was very young. He has since worked for people who make clothes, people who make films, people who make magazines, and, most recently, a mountain. His projects are conceived on the scale of a cathedral and delivered as a slideshow. Despite his best efforts, he has never relaxed. He follows the arts with a connoisseur's acuteness. After two martinis he is an authority on most subjects; after three, all of them. He jogs. He dislikes chess. He has visited every country he has been to. On holidays, he is easily led astray by dead architects. He has been praised for his future work. An optometrist once called him a visionary. He did not win the Nobel Prize this year. His headstone will read: "Not how I'd have done it." He cites Wile E. Coyote as a mentor, sharing the belief that the next idea will be the one that works. **Fanny R-K** (she/they) is a strategist and independent researcher from Toronto fascinated with how ideas gain traction. She laughs when AI transcripts censor her name like a swear word. F\*nny has worked as a brand strategist for over a decade, helping grow some of Canada's most trusted and well-known brands, including the fastest-growing SaaS company in the world. They also studied mime from ages 8-13, did stand-up comedy for five years, and more recently, completed a Masters in the political ecology of degrowth from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Upon receiving a hug from legendary campaigner Selma James at an ecological economics conference in Pontevedra in 2024, they became committed to fighting against socio-economic inequalities and ecological crises by (amongst other things) advocating for the defeminization of care work. F\*nny is excited to talk about these ideas at Major Fix. **Tanner Notch** is an independent researcher. He is also a motion designer and video editor who has made work for National Geographic, Complex, Hilton, and FIFA. He was raised in a remote part of Oregon, in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains, two hours from Mount Shasta. He has been collecting accounts of giants for approximately twelve years. He is six foot four. **Jordan Sowunmi**, at 5 foot 11, is tall-passing.
