A young Palestinian woman, navigating a double life as a 'good Muslim daughter' and a bold New York comic, is forced to confront the true cost of liberation when her worlds collide as she's being detained at an Israeli checkpoint. A solo show written and performed by Atheer Yacoub, an internationally touring stand-up comedian who blends her absurd humor on identity, religion, and politics to finally answer the question she is constantly asked, "How does a Palestinian end up in Alabama?" Directed by Nana Dakin (นานา เดกิ้น), a queer Thai American director of new work, classics and devised performance. Her work pursues social equity by examining the way culture is constructed and unsettling dormant biases.
