A pianist, composer, arranger, and sound designer whose career has taken him to the creative edge of jazz and kept him there, Rod Williams has been one of New York City's most trusted and adventurous musical voices since arriving from Detroit in 1981 at the invitation of Henry Threadgill. He has performed alongside David Murray, Lester Bowie, Dewey Redman, Cassandra Wilson, Steve Coleman, and Geri Allen — and holds advanced degrees from Brooklyn College in electronic music and interactive media arts.
